On the momentous occasion of World Consumer Rights Day 2023, the Government of Bangladesh, through the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) under the Ministry of Commerce, recognized my exceptional contribution to the promotion of consumer awareness and protection through media and creative writing. I was honored with the Second Prize for my outstanding essay compilation, which focused on strengthening ethical practices, consumer rights, and responsible consumption in Bangladesh.
The prestigious award ceremony took place at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC) in Agargaon, Dhaka, where the Honorable Minister of Commerce, Mr. Tipu Munshi, MP, attended as the Chief Guest. Due to my professional engagement abroad at that time, my father received the award during the ceremony.
The recognition signifies not only my consistent commitment to ethical journalism but also my continued efforts to uphold the spirit of consumer rights advocacy in Bangladesh. Through my
essay and journalistic work, I aimed to highlight issues such as consumer exploitation, product safety, fair trade, transparency, and the importance of informed decision-making among the general public.
This award serves as a testament to my dedication to public interest reporting, emphasizing my belief that responsible journalism plays a crucial role in empowering citizens and promoting accountability among businesses and institutions.
Receiving this national honor on such a globally significant day reinforces my lifelong mission to contribute meaningfully to ethical communication, consumer education, and social justice through journalism and creative storytelling.
